Cal Black Nurses Summit: Growing Our Roots Through Policy & Education

Building a coalition of nurse leaders and policy influencers to provide action items and increase awareness of the nurse’s voice in advocacy

We are thrilled to be bringing together the California chapters of the National Black Nurses Association to build a coalition of nurse leaders, advocates, and policy influencers to provide action items and increase awareness of the nurse’s voice in advocacy. Specifically, we will be highlighting and reviewing the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report with some of the top nurse experts in the profession. CEU’s will be offered for participation in this statewide collaboration. Attendees will be a part of history as we bring together chapters from across the Golden State for the first time in 50 years to discuss how we can shape and influence our profession for the next 50 years!

Highlighting our line-up this year are some of the industry’s most accomplished Black nurses from California:

  1. Examine the opportunity to increase the diversity among the nurse workforce in California
  2. Discuss current policy focused on care of BIPOC- Black Indigenous People of Color
  3. Examine the Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report: Charting A Path to Achieve Health Equity
  4. Discuss current California nurse practice policy
  5. Build coalition capacity of Professional California Black Nursing Organizations
